Battery warranty extension (1 extra year)

The terms and conditions of the warranty extension for Ebikepartners e-bike batteries.

What you get

When you buy a new battery, you can add a warranty extension for € 99.00 (incl. VAT). The warranty on that battery then runs for 3 years from the delivery date instead of 2 years.

If you discover a material or manufacturing defect within 3 years of delivery, we will repair the battery free of charge or replace it with an equivalent battery. In the third year, this may also be an equivalent refurbished battery. The replaced battery becomes the property of Ebikepartners.

Eligibility

  • The warranty extension applies only to new batteries purchased from Ebikepartners, including via bol. Second-chance products are excluded.
  • The warranty extension can only be purchased together with the battery. It applies only to the battery on the same order.
  • The warranty extension is personal. It does not transfer to a new owner if you sell the battery or the bike.
  • To make a warranty claim, you need your order number or proof of purchase.

Capacity loss

A battery gradually loses capacity with use, on average about 10% per year. This is normal wear and is not covered by the warranty. If the capacity drops below 60% of the original capacity within 3 years of delivery, we do consider this a defect.

Battery no longer available

If we cannot repair the battery and the same type is no longer available, we will replace it with a comparable battery that fits your bike. If no such battery is available either, you will receive compensation:

  • within the first 2 years after delivery: the full purchase price of the battery;
  • in the third year: 50% of the purchase price of the battery.

In that case, the price paid for the warranty extension is not refunded.

What is not covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • drops, moisture or other external damage;
  • incorrect charging or storage, or failure to follow the user manual;
  • use of a non-original charger;
  • opening or modifying the battery by anyone other than Ebikepartners;
  • commercial use, such as rental.

Reporting a defect

  • Report a defect as soon as possible, and in any case within 2 months of discovering it, via support@ebikepartners.com or +31 85 073 7931.
  • Never ship a defective battery yourself. Contact us first and we will arrange the transport.
  • Stop using a battery that is defective or damaged. We are not liable for damage caused by use after a defect has been discovered.
  • If our inspection shows that the claim is not covered by the warranty, for example in the case of normal capacity loss or external damage, we will charge a diagnostic fee of € 35.09 incl. VAT, plus any shipping costs. This also applies to the standard warranty.

Cooling-off period and statutory rights

If you return the battery within the cooling-off period, we will also refund the warranty extension. After that, the warranty extension cannot be cancelled separately.

The warranty extension does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Please also read our warranty policy.
