Stella display replacement: which type fits your bike?
Does your display stay black, has your control pad stopped responding, or is it throwing an error? Often it is the display or the control pad itself — but not always. Below you can see the possible causes, and which display belongs to your generation of Stella.

WHY THEY FAIL
Why displays and control pads fail
Then there is the weather. The controls and the display have to stand up to wind and rain, but conditions in the Netherlands and Belgium are hard on components like these. Our maritime climate brings damp, and together with sunlight it dries out the rubber buttons until they start letting water through — which is what kills the electronics. We also see connectors oxidise, which makes control pads and displays glitch or stop working altogether.
No signal at all from your display?
If a display or control pad gives no signal at all, it is worth checking whether it is still properly connected. Do be careful: the connectors are fragile, and the small pins in the plug have to seat exactly right. It is always wise to tape up the plug connection with insulating tape.
How long does a display last?
If the bike is kept indoors most of the time, control pads and displays can last 10 years or more.
RULE THIS OUT FIRST
It looks like a display problem — but is it?
Before you order a new display, it is worth ruling out a few other parts.
The display cable.
The display cable that runs through the frame can be broken.
The controller or the battery.
If the display or the controls show nothing, the controller or the battery may be at fault. You can usually check the battery status by pressing the button on the battery itself.
WHICH DISPLAY FITS?
Which display belongs to your Stella?
Stella has used three generations of front hub motor systems, and they differ in which display they use. Below you can see which displays were fitted in each generation.
This generation was combined with one of the following displays: Nokee display, Kingmeter J-LCD, Kingmeter LED 3-speed, Kingmeter KM-5S or Kingmeter SW-LCD.
All of these can now be replaced with the newer Nokee colour display (41557).
This generation was combined with a Mobi Drive display, in two versions:
- Mobi Drive V1.0 (46867): the Stella logo (the little bird) is to the right of “Stella”
- Mobi Drive V2.0: the little bird is to the left of “Stella”
There is a separate control on the handlebar (often called the “POD”) that you use to move through the menu and set the assistance level: article number 54988.
This generation is fitted with an Eleon display, in the following versions:
- Eleon Drive Screen V2.1 (black)
- Eleon Color SC-B02 without internal dc/dc: article number 43719
- Eleon Color SC-B02 with internal dc/dc: article number 54047
On this generation the handlebar control is a CAN bus version, made specifically for the Eleon system: article number 43720.

Yesterday afternoon a technician from Ebikepartners was here to help me with the repair of quite a few Stella bikes. Everything went fantastically well, super service. Customers can be satisfied again.
What a fantastic company Ebikepartners is—founded by Gert. I received a warm welcome there with coffee, and they expertly diagnosed the problems with my Stella Copenhague. I was able to head home happy with a bike that worked perfectly. Kudos to Peter for his kindness and expertise.
