The controller is the control unit of the Vinka V20 mid-drive motor and is built into the motor. It processes the signals from the torque sensor, the speed sensor and the display, and uses them to determine how much current flows from the battery to the motor. In doing so, the controller regulates the level of pedal assistance and protects both motor and battery against overload.
A faulty controller can cause symptoms such as: no assistance while display and battery are working normally, assistance dropping out suddenly, error codes on the display, or a motor that no longer responds to the selected assistance level.
Suitable for the Vinka V20 mid-drive motor: 36V/48V, 250W nominal power, maximum torque 75 Nm. This motor is used in city and trekking bicycles.
The controller is located inside the motor housing. Replacement requires the motor to be opened and disassembled and is therefore best carried out by a qualified bicycle mechanic or e-bike specialist. Check the motor type and the system voltage of the bicycle before ordering.
